Swedish Quran burner Momika granted temporary residency despite deportation order

On May 30 this year, the Swedish Migration Board issued a new temporary residency permit. This permit will be extended for a year, after which the case will be reviewed again.

37-year-old Momika has been responsible for numerous Quran burnings across Sweden in recent years. Several of these instances have led to riots and unrest.

Previously, Momika was apprehended in Norway and deported back to Sweden in April 2024. Earlier in March, it was reported that Momika was leaving Sweden. In February, his deportation was confirmed.
