In her new book, “I egen barm,” literary critic Katherine Diez presents several accounts that her ex-boyfriend, TV chef and screenwriter Adam Price, claims do not reflect his experiences. Price’s response comes following the book’s release today, which addresses the public backlash Diez faced after it was revealed that she had plagiarized text in her reviews for Berlingske. The book also provides insights into her relationship with Price, which ended shortly after the plagiarism scandal broke.

Price criticizes the publishing house, People’s, for not adequately sharing the book’s content with him before publication, stating he received only a brief summary 12 days prior to the release. He disagrees with the publisher’s attorney, Heidi Helveg, who felt the summary was sufficient for assessing potential privacy violations and defamation concerns.

In the book, Diez reflects on her life with Price as the “adventure I always yearned to live.” On September 26, Price was allowed to read excerpts from the book under the supervision of Diez’s lawyer, during which he was not permitted to retain any pages afterward. Price maintains that much of the narrative does not resonate with him and insists he did not consent to the sharing of her subjective interpretations of their intimate life. He has yet to decide on any legal action regarding the perceived violations.

Line Miller, CEO of People’s, defends the need for details about Adam Price, stating they are essential for understanding Diez’s perspective. After eight months of silence since the scandal, Diez has finally spoken out through her new book and an appearance on DR’s news podcast, discussing the aftermath of the incident and her emotional struggles. She expresses a newfound confidence and freedom to engage with the world around her.
