Weather alert: low-pressure system brings colder temperatures and rain to Greenland

Tuesday 1st 2024 on 08:54 in
Iceland

A low-pressure system in the Greenland Sea, combined with a high-pressure area south of the country, is directing southwest winds towards the region. Today, colder temperatures are expected with light rain or drizzle in many areas, while the eastern parts of the country will experience mostly dry conditions and temperatures ranging from five to eleven degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow, winds will ease, and precipitation is anticipated to increase, particularly in the northwestern regions, while the southeast and eastern areas will remain dry until the evening. Temperature fluctuations will be minimal.

On Thursday, northeasterly winds of eight to fifteen meters per second are expected, along with intermittent rain. Gradually, conditions will improve in the northern and western parts of the country, but winds will persist in the southern regions, leading to cooler weather overall.
