The police have resolved a theft case that occurred at a construction site on Kemiönsaari in Southwest Finland. The incident took place on September 12, when a suspect targeted a dock construction site. In an attempt to conceal the evidence, the perpetrator also vandalized a surveillance camera at the site.

According to a statement from the Southwest Finland police, the stolen surveillance camera played a crucial role in solving the crime. The battery-operated, cloud-storing camera captured high-quality footage of the suspect’s actions at the site, as well as images of the suspect’s vehicle, their journey home, and even scenes from the backyard and kitchen of their residence, where the suspect later examined the stolen camera.

Armed with this evidence, the police were well-prepared when they approached the suspect’s door, making the investigation relatively straightforward. The police indicated that the interrogation process revealed little room for negotiation. The case is now moving forward to prosecution in the near future.
