Jódís Skúladóttir, a member of the Left Green Movement, has announced her candidacy for the position of vice chair of the party. The election will take place at the party’s national conference scheduled in Reykjavik from October 4 to 6.

Skúladóttir believes in the principles of the Left Greens and is committed to enhancing the internal workings of the party if elected. Meanwhile, Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, the acting chair, has not yet disclosed whether he intends to run for the chairmanship, and no other candidates have emerged.

Recent polling indicates a challenging period for the Left Greens, with the latest Gallup National Poll showing them at 3.4% support, suggesting they would not secure a seat in parliament.
