Gathering of 1,500 employees at event in Tórshavn leads to police intervention in Faroe Islands

Many people gathered in the city of Tórshavn last night and the previous evening, as around 1,500 employees from the Tórshavn Municipality attended an event at the sports hall in Hálsi, along with other staff parties taking place.

According to the duty officer, the local emergency services were not extensively called upon, although three individuals stayed overnight in the police station’s temporary lodging. The group included one man and two women, and two of those guests were still waiting for transportation when police checked in at around 9 AM this morning.

One individual was taken in by authorities as early as 8 PM the previous evening, while the other two were detained at around 2:30 AM and 3:30 AM, respectively.

Two of the individuals were also reported for being unruly towards the police and others, and one will be issued a fine for violating public order regulations.
