Working group declines additional funding request for Vantaa and Kerava wellness area in Finland

A working group has decided not to recommend additional funding for the Vantaa and Kerava wellness area. The region had requested €74 million from the state for this year and another €74 million for next year. The final decision will be made by the government in a plenary session either next week or the following week.

The preparatory working group that evaluated the funding request for Vantaa and Kerava completed its report today. According to an expert analysis, the current funding model does not treat the Vantaa and Kerava wellness area fairly, as the region has a greater need for social services compared to other areas.
