Student apprehended after threatening behavior outside Välskäri School in Uusikaupunki

Authorities in Southwestern Finland received a report on Friday morning about a student acting threateningly outside Välskäri School in Uusikaupunki. According to emergency services, a student under the age of 15 was seen in the area wielding an axe and behaving aggressively.

In response to the situation, other students and staff locked themselves inside the school premises. Fortunately, no injuries occurred during the incident. However, the young person caused damage to the building with the axe, as confirmed by the police in a press release.

When the police arrived at the scene, the student had already left, but officers managed to apprehend him nearby. Investigations are ongoing into the matter. Due to the youth of the individual involved, further details about the incident will not be disclosed.
