Tórshavn City Council discusses food provisions proposal from Republic Party

The Food Policy Committee and the Welfare Committee of the Tórshavn City Council will discuss the proposal from the Republic Party regarding food provisions in schools and kindergartens within the Tórshavn municipality.

The council approved the proposal without a vote during yesterday’s meeting.

According to the Republic Party, the new food system will ensure that children and young people receive healthy meals while they are in school or kindergarten.

This food policy could also encourage the cultivation of Faroese vegetables.

Additionally, the initiative aims to educate children and young people about sustainable food practices and how to utilize local resources effectively.
