Djóni Nolsøe Joensen, the Faroe Islands’ Minister for Children and Education, expressed his reservations about implementing a trial program concerning a boy being sent abroad due to a lack of support options available for him in the archipelago.

During a parliamentary session yesterday, Liljan Weihe, a representative of the Republic Party, argued that there are still possibilities to explore in this situation, suggesting that the Minister could initiate a trial program.

In response, Joensen stated, “The number of children being sent abroad is decreasing, which is positive,” when asked about the same matter by Weihe.

Although the Minister declined to comment on personal cases, he indicated that communication exists among the parties involved in this issue. Further discussion on this topic is anticipated during a segment called “Breddan” at 10 AM.
