Finnish President Stubb attends NATO summit in Washington, shares morning walk photo from World War II Memorial

President of the Republic, Alexander Stubb, is currently in Washington DC for a NATO summit. Despite his packed schedule, Stubb managed to squeeze in a morning walk with his wife, Suzanne Innes-Stubb. On Wednesday, he shared a picture on Instagram with the caption, “Good morning from Washington DC.”

The photo was taken at the World War II Memorial in the National Mall park in Washington. Comments on the post praised the presidential couple and their energy. One commenter complimented, “Fantastic work for Finland’s benefit. Yet again a sigh about how you, Stubb and Innes, were the best choice.”

Another user admired the beautiful location for the morning walk. Stubb’s journey to the summit has not been without events. On Monday, he announced that he would be arriving at the summit later than scheduled due to a delayed flight.

On Tuesday, Stubb shared that he traveled to Washington with Sweden’s Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson. Stubb wrote on Facebook, “You can trust Sweden. After all the travel hassle, I get a ride to Washington from Ulf. Together to the first joint NATO summit. Better late than never, in so many ways.”
