Body discovered on Reynisfjall in West Skaftafell during search for Illes Benedek Incze from Vík

A man’s body was discovered on Reynisfjall in West Skaftafell at around eleven o’clock this evening. A search operation had been underway since Monday for Illes Benedek Incze, a resident of Vík, who was last seen on the night of September 16. The Coast Guard helicopter was deployed to retrieve the body from the mountain, as it was inaccessible by land. The Technical Department of the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police will assist with the investigation into the incident.
