A public discussion on youth violence is set to take place this evening during the live broadcast of “Torgið,” a program that encourages dialogue on controversial issues. The panel will explore questions surrounding why some young people resort to violence and what society can do to change this troubling trend.

Featuring a diverse group of guests, the discussion will include Kristján Ernir Björgvinsson, a producer known for creating documentaries on the realities of youth substance use; Isabel Alejandra Díaz, a journalist and former chairperson of the Student Council at the University of Iceland; social media influencer Estefan Leó Haraldsson; actor and media personality Jóhann Kristófer Stefánsson; high school student Jörundur Orrason; and Katrín Jónsdóttir, a staff member at an outreach community center.

The program is scheduled to air live at 9:40 PM GMT on September 17. As youth violence continues to be a pressing issue across many societies, the discussions aim to shed light on the mental well-being of young people and encourage constructive dialogue about potential solutions.

In addition to the main topic, the program seeks to connect viewers with relevant community resources and foster a deeper understanding of the challenges facing today’s youth. Engaging community members to share their views and solutions will be a key element of the event.
