Search efforts for Illes Benedek Incze, a Hungarian national reported missing in Vík í Mýrdal, have been suspended as of now. Illes was last seen around 3 AM on September 16 and failed to show up for work the following day, raising concerns about his whereabouts.

Approximately 100 rescue workers had been conducting searches since late yesterday, utilizing drones and thermal imaging technology to navigate poor visibility in the area. However, authorities reported that the search yielded no new leads, prompting the decision to halt operations for the time being. There is currently no suspicion of foul play surrounding his disappearance.

The Suðurland police department continues to investigate the case and is gathering further information. They have expressed gratitude to all those who participated in the search efforts. Members of the public who may have information regarding Illes’ activities after 3 AM on September 16 are encouraged to contact the police via email.

Meanwhile, the community is left with growing concerns over the disappearance of Illes, who was working in the Vík area at the time of his vanishing. As the investigation progresses, the police remain vigilant in their search for any clues that might lead them to his location.
