Dean position at Cathedral in Suðurstreymoy opens for applications

The position of Dean will be open for applications for one year starting September 2025, as Uni Næs, the current Dean, will retire on January 31, 2026.
The Dean, associated with the cathedral, serves as both the Dean of the Cathedral and the Bishop’s deputy.
As the Dean is responsible for pastoral care in the eastern parish of Suðurstreymoy, the church councils in Nólsoy and the Church of Torshavn will be the ones to propose candidates for the Dean position.
Following this, the Bishop will make a recommendation to the government, which will appoint the new Dean.
Uni Næs has held the position of Dean since 2010. At that time, there were three applicants for the role.
