Trial begins in Faroe Islands for man accused of attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure

A trial is set to begin tomorrow in the Faroe Islands regarding charges of attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure against a 44-year-old man.

The man is accused of attempting to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl in November 2021. He faces additional charges related to another form of sexual contact, alleged to have occurred during the same timeframe when he reportedly touched the girl beneath her clothing.

This incident involves the same victim as in previous cases against him. Furthermore, the accused is charged with indecent exposure against another girl over a span of eight years, from 2009 to 2017. According to the indictment, he allegedly exposed himself to this second victim while she was clothed.

The second victim was born in 2004, which places her age at the time of the alleged offenses at significantly younger than the accused.

The accused has denied any wrongdoing, according to the prosecution.
