Today, strong easterly and northeasterly winds are expected, with speeds ranging from 10 to 18 m/s, and reaching 18 to 23 m/s in the southeastern part of the country and in the south until midday. Yellow weather warnings are in effect for southern and southeastern Iceland due to the strong winds, which are expected to persist until noon in the South and until 4 PM in the Southeast. Sudden gusts may pose a risk to vehicles that are sensitive to high winds.

Additionally, rain is anticipated in various regions, while sleet is likely in the interior parts of northeastern Iceland. The western areas are expected to remain dry. Temperatures will range from 2 to 12 degrees Celsius, with the coldest conditions occurring in the interior of northern Iceland.

Tomorrow, winds will shift to the north and northwest, blowing at speeds of 8 to 15 m/s, with lighter winds in the western areas. Intermittent rain or sleet is forecasted for the northern and eastern regions, while the southern and western areas will see occasional clear skies. Winds and precipitation are expected to ease in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 4 to 12 degrees Celsius, with the warmest conditions in the southeast.
