Katrin Næs announces decision not to run for re-election as mayor of Hvannasund municipality

Katrin Næs has announced that she will not run for re-election as mayor of Hvannasund municipality in the upcoming local elections this autumn. Næs has served as mayor since the last local election in 2020 and also held the position prior to the 2016 elections when she did not stand for office.

According to a municipal survey, residents of Hvannasund express overall satisfaction with their community, awarding it a score of 77 out of 100 in terms of satisfaction. This figure is higher than the national average satisfaction score of 75.

In her remarks, Næs emphasized the importance of electing a forward-thinking successor to continue the progress made in the municipality.
