In Ísafjörður, the Turnhús, which houses the Westfjords Heritage Museum, sustained minor damage during last week’s storm. Access to the upper floor of the building is currently restricted due to structural concerns.

The historic structure, built in 1784, experienced significant shaking during the severe weather, causing some of the load-bearing pillars on the upper level to be compromised. The Turnhús is located at Neðstakaupstaður, alongside three other historical buildings: Tjöruhúsið, Krambúðin, and Faktorshúsið.

At the height of the storm, wind speeds reached up to 46 meters per second in Ísafirður, with wave heights in the nearby Pollur area exceeding three meters.
