The Health Ministry of the Faroe Islands is seeking a new director. Bjørgfríð Ludvig has been serving as the acting director since January 1st of this year. She stepped into the role following advice from legal counsel that led to the departure of Turid Arge, the former director, who was issued a reprimand and subsequently reassigned as a consultant in the Legal Affairs Department.

The investigation, led by Jens Nørtved, found that Turid Arge had violated Section 9, Subsection 1 of the Civil Service Act by bypassing provisions in relevant legislation. This led to the decision made at the end of June regarding her reprimand and reassignment.

The position being advertised for a new director is a fixed-term appointment lasting seven years, with the possibility of an extension for up to three additional years. The role is classified within the 39th salary tier based on an agreement between the National Civil Service Association and the Ministry of Finance.

In addition to a monthly supplement of 6,380 Danish krone for the director role, a further monthly addition of 20 percent of the base salary is provided for the fixed-term appointment. The pension contribution is set at 15 percent of the total salary.
