Faroe Islands set herring quota at 74,219 tons for 2023

The total quota for North Atlantic herring for the Faroe Islands this year is set at 74,219 tons, marking a decrease of over 19 percent compared to last year.
Dennis Holm, the Minister of Fisheries, participated in a consultation meeting with the foreign affairs committee yesterday to determine the herring quota for this year.
Shortly, the regulations regarding the fishing of North Atlantic herring will be announced, which will also specify how many vessels will be allowed to participate in the fishery.
