Three Gigantti stores will cease operations on Thursday, September 12. The news was first reported by Iltalehti. Gigantti’s CEO, Niko Sandström, confirmed in an email to Yle that the franchise agreement with the company will end on Thursday, and it will not be renewed. As a result, business under the Gigantti brand will temporarily conclude in Forssa, Hyvinkää, and Riihimäki.

“The conditions for extending the agreement were no longer viable, but we cannot disclose further details about the contract between the company and us,” Sandström stated. The stores will remain operational until their regular closing times on Thursday. Customers with questions regarding purchases, pickups, returns, exchanges, or repairs are advised to contact the customer service center.

Following these closures, Gigantti will have 38 stores remaining in Finland. According to Sandström, there will be no changes to the network in the near future. In August, the company announced its financial results for the previous fiscal year, which showed a loss. The Gigantti chain is part of Elkjøp, a Norwegian company owned by the British electronics retail group Currys plc.
