The municipality of Sandur has sent a stern letter to the waste management company IRF regarding irregular waste collection services in Sandur.

Residents frequently leave their garbage out for IRF to collect, only to find it remains uncollected due to cancellations of the waste collection services.

“It should not happen that waste is not picked up at the scheduled time. This is a significant inconvenience for our citizens,” the letter states.

Heri Sverrason, the mayor of Sandur, emphasizes the importance of reliable waste collection services.

As a result of the complaints, a change has been implemented, with IRF now scheduled to collect waste in Sandoy on Fridays. This adjustment aims to address the ongoing issues and improve service reliability for the residents of Sandur.
