The government is continuing to allocate funds to the judicial system in its upcoming budget proposal, aimed for 2025. Among the suggested allocations, the police are set to receive 1.38 billion kronor, the correctional service 888 million, the courts 289 million, and the Security Service (Säpo) 95 million kronor in new funding. Additional funds are also included in the current budget for 2024, with the police receiving an extra 400 million to accommodate workforce growth, and the correctional service receiving 275 million to expand prison capacity.

Taking into account previously announced budget increases, the total budget for the judicial system will rise from 78.7 billion kronor this year to 86.7 billion kronor in 2025. The government anticipates that the judicial budget will eventually grow from 69 billion kronor in 2023 to 100 billion kronor by 2027.

The proposed financial allocations for the judicial system in 2025 are as follows:
– Police: 1,385 million kronor
– Correctional Service: 888 million kronor
– Courts: 289 million kronor
– Security Service (Säpo): 95 million kronor
– National Board of Forensic Medicine: 24 million kronor
– Prosecution Authority: 10 million kronor
– Crime Victim Compensation and Support Authority: 4 million kronor

Total: 2,695 million kronor.
