Wednesday 11th 2024 on 09:18 in
Iceland

A low-pressure area between Iceland and Norway, along with a high over Greenland, is currently directing northerly winds over the region. Strong winds are expected in the east, with gusts reaching storm levels in the southeastern part of the country, while the west will experience calmer conditions.

A yellow weather warning for strong winds is in effect in the Southeast until this evening. Light showers or flurries are anticipated in the northeastern regions, with generally partly cloudy skies elsewhere. This evening and tonight, winds will decrease, leading to relatively gentle westerly or northwesterly breezes and clearer weather tomorrow, although stronger winds persist in the east. It will remain quite cool, but temperatures could rise to 11 degrees Celsius in the southern areas during midday.
