Teenage boy in stable condition after stabbing near Kastelli School in Oulu

The condition of a teenage boy who fell victim to a stabbing is stable but serious, according to Chief Inspector Janne Koskela from the Oulu Police. The suspected perpetrator is currently being interrogated and has been cooperative, Koskela reports. The motive behind the incident has not yet been determined, and the attack is being investigated as attempted murder.

The stabbing occurred on Monday afternoon on a pedestrian pathway near Kastelli School and Oulu University Hospital. The victim is a student at Kastelli High School, which is located close to the site of the incident. He has been receiving treatment at Oulu University Hospital since the event.

The police apprehended the suspect near the location of the incident yesterday. Kastelli’s multifunctional building houses a primary school, high school, and adult education center. A notice sent to parents indicated that several elementary school students witnessed the stabbing. Support sessions with a school counselor are being offered to the students in response to the traumatic event.
