Young residents report intimidation incident in Viitasaari, police investigating

Last Thursday around 9 PM, young residents of Viitasaari called emergency services after being threatened. The police arrived from Äänekoski only later, by which time the situation had already deescalated, according to investigation leader Veli-Pekka Välisaari. The police are treating the incident as a case of illegal intimidation. Välisaari confirmed that they know who was in the vehicle involved, but no interrogations have begun yet.

The shocking incident was addressed at the local educational institution the following Friday morning. The municipality of Viitasaari announced that counseling services, including discussions with a guidance counselor and a school nurse, have been arranged for students on Friday. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to talk about the incident during the week.
