Plans announced for peaceful nature area in Trongisvágur, Faroe Islands
Johan Mortensen, the chair of the Forest Conservation Committee, announced plans for a peaceful area in Trongisvágur, where visitors can enjoy nature, listen to the sounds of trees, birds, and tranquility. Many participants at the recent planting event expressed their satisfaction.
“You always meet people here,” one attendee remarked. Another added, “It’s a peaceful and pleasant place.”
The tree planting in Trongisvágur dates back to 1924, marking one of several attempts in the early 20th century to cultivate trees in the Faroe Islands.
