The Icelandic Meteorological Office has issued yellow and orange weather warnings for northern Iceland and the eastern fjords, as well as the Central Highlands, due to anticipated severe north winds and snowfall on Monday and Tuesday.

The yellow warnings will take effect at midnight, while orange warnings will be in place by 6 PM on Monday in northern Iceland and will also apply to eastern regions during the late afternoon on Tuesday. Travelers are advised of strong northwest winds and significant snowfall along mountain passes, especially in the Tröllaskagi region. Conditions may deteriorate, leading to potential transport disruptions as tourists should prepare for winter road conditions. It is recommended not to travel during this period, according to the Meteorological Office’s website.

Weather warnings are in effect for Monday and Tuesday.
