Rescue teams dispatched to assist herder in Borgarfjörður, Iceland

Earlier today, rescue teams in Borgarfjörður were dispatched to assist a herder who had fallen while herding sheep in Skorradal, an area known for its challenging terrain. The herder sustained minor injuries to his foot.

Sheep herding was taking place throughout the Borgarbyggð region today, with many individuals out on the mountains chasing after the sheep. However, rescue teams received the call for assistance shortly before 1 PM when the situation regarding the herder became clear.

Rescue personnel reached the injured herder using all-terrain vehicles, as his companions waited by his side for help. The herder was transported on a rescue vehicle to a waiting ambulance for medical attention, as stated in a report from the rescue team.
