Four individuals injured during chemistry demonstration at Tønder Library in Denmark

On Saturday afternoon, four individuals were injured during a chemistry demonstration at Tønder Library. According to local police, the injuries occurred due to glass fragments from an explosion related to the show. Two people suffered minor injuries, while two others required medical treatment.

Authorities received the incident report at 1:39 PM. A communications officer from Tønder Municipality stated that none of those involved are in life-threatening condition. Three of the injured are children, while the adult who sustained more severe injuries was one of the event’s organizers.

The chemistry demonstration was conducted by students from Aalborg University. The event had 35 registrants, and promotional material from the municipality promised an “impressive chemistry show filled with fire, bangs, vibrant colors, chemical reactions, and educational insights for all ages.”

Investigating authorities remain at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further updates are forthcoming.
