Weather forecast predicts temperature drop and northern winds across Iceland

Weather conditions are set to change in the upcoming days. Today, sunny spells are expected in various regions, with temperatures possibly reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius in the southern part of the country. However, a strong to moderate southwesterly wind is still blowing in the northwest, although the gale has eased. Conditions in this area are expected to calm down this evening.

Tomorrow, a cold northern wind will take hold, starting in the northwest before noon and spreading to the south and east after midday. Temperatures are anticipated to drop, particularly in northern areas. Light precipitation is forecasted for most regions, with a likelihood of snow covering mountain peaks in the north.

The northerly wind will dominate next week, expected to be somewhat brisk and cold, bringing rain or sleet in the northern regions and snow in the mountains. Wind and precipitation are expected to diminish by Wednesday.
