Security line congestion eases at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

Saturday 7th 2024 on 09:35 in
Finland

Long-standing security line congestion at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, which began at the start of the month, has eased, according to Finavia. During the peak morning rush hour today, between 6 AM and 8 AM, wait times were moderate, with security lines remaining at around 5 to 10 minutes.

The reduction in queues began on Thursday and Friday, even though passenger numbers typically increase as the weekend approaches. The congestion was attributed to new liquid regulations that came into effect in early September. Under the new EU rules, the maximum allowed size for liquid containers in hand luggage is now limited to one hundred milliliters.
