Police have received reports of a man following children in Fossvogur, a neighborhood in Reykjavik. School administrators at Fossvogskóli have sent emails to parents warning them about this individual, who has reportedly been following children near the school in recent days. The police have been notified and are investigating the matter.

In the email, the man is described as having a buzz cut, smoking, riding a scooter, and not speaking Icelandic. Asmundur Runar Gylfason, an assistant chief of police with the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police, confirmed the reports, stating that complaints have been made about a man following boys in the area. The police take such reports seriously and are actively looking into the situation.

Asmundur Rúnar added that they can deploy resources and personnel to monitor the area, but emphasized that the investigation is still in its early stages and no crimes have been reported. There have been notifications about inappropriate behavior, and the police would like to speak with the individual in question.

In related news, this spring, the police received four reports concerning a man behaving inappropriately around children near Víðistaðaskóli in Hafnarfirði. Following these incidents, increased surveillance was established, but no additional reports have been made. The police have reviewed the situation thoroughly and expressed hope for resolution.
