Elonkerjuu, a band that has enjoyed immense popularity for years, is set to reunite with its former lead vocalist, Juha Lagström. Lagström will join current lead vocalist and violinist Osku Ketola, who has been with the band for the past seven years. The lineup will also feature guitarists Simo Ralli and Lenni Paarma, with Paarma transitioning from drums to guitar.

With this renewed lineup, Elonkerjuu aims to break their silence and announce their continuation as a band. Throughout the years, Elonkerjuu has faced numerous challenges and tragedies. Ralli shared in a statement that they were confronted with a significant loss when their beloved bassist, Antero Naali, passed away last year after a brief illness.

Ralli emphasized that it was Naali’s wish for the band to continue. “We were unsure how to move forward, as Antero’s unique chemistry, spirit, and musicianship were irreplaceable. Lenni and I joked that it would be easier to find new singers than another Antero,” Ralli noted.

Serendipitously, an opportunity arose when both Ralli and Lagström were invited to perform at a fan’s celebration. During the planning process, the idea emerged to turn this appearance into a new beginning for Elonkerjuu. The other band members quickly aligned with Ralli on this vision.

The first gathering of the reformed Elonkerjuu took place at Paarma’s cabin in Vaasa in June. Excitingly, a new single titled “Sydän märkenöö” is scheduled for release in early October.
