Russian cargo ship arrives at Nólsoyarfjørður with medical emergency on board

A Russian cargo ship arrived in Nólsoyarfjørður yesterday morning with a patient on board. The vessel, located over 400 nautical miles north of the Faroe Islands, reported that it had a medical emergency.

Fortunately, the situation was not deemed critical enough to warrant sending a helicopter for the patient. In communication with the National Hospital, the ship was advised to proceed to the Faroe Islands for further medical assistance.
