Jákup Sverri embarks on research expedition aboard Faroe Islands vessel

Jákup Sverri is currently aboard the Faroe Islands’ research vessel.

The expedition began on Wednesday and will run until next Wednesday.

The primary objective is to collect data that will be used for the cod stock assessment at the bank.

The data collected will include information on weight, length, age, sex ratios, and reproductive characteristics.

This data collection will also be applicable to other fish species encountered during the research.

Additionally, stomach analyses will be conducted on cod, haddock, and saithe.
