Pohjanmaa, Finland – Bags containing narcotics have been discovered at the Leppäkerttu daycare center in Mustasaari. The findings were made on two separate occasions: Friday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 4. The bags were found during a routine inspection of the daycare’s yard, which is conducted daily before the children go outside.

Anna Törnroos-Mård, the head of early childhood education and preschool, praised the staff for their swift and appropriate response. “The staff acted quickly and followed our guidelines perfectly. They immediately contacted the authorities,” Törnroos-Mård stated in a press release from the municipality of Mustasaari.

In response to the incident, the local government has increased surveillance in the area surrounding Leppäkerttu daycare. A security company has been commissioned to patrol the surroundings more frequently than usual.

Leppäkerttu is a Finnish-speaking daycare intended for children aged 1 to 5. Parents of the daycare children have been informed about the situation following the municipality’s contact with the police to investigate the matter further.
