Durita Reinert advocates for increased physical activity in schools across Denmark

Children who sit still for too long often struggle to concentrate. Therefore, it is crucial that physical activity is a natural part of the school environment, says Durita Reinert, a children’s physiotherapist.

She was taken aback to observe that only one class per week is allocated for physical education in the first grade, which she believes is far too little. In addition, just 15 minutes are designated for lunch breaks.

The physiotherapist has a clear request: let movement be a part of the school day every day, ideally multiple times throughout the day.

A video recording of Durita discussing this topic can be found at the provided link.
