The Bergholið project serves as a prime example of the necessity for increased diligence, particularly from a political standpoint, to ensure everything is in order before embarking on major projects, according to Dennis Holm, the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure.

Originally estimated to cost 167 million Danish kroner, expenses for the Bergholið project in Fámjín have surged. Initially, costs increased by 40 million kroner, followed by another increment of 45 million kroner, bringing the total current expenditure to 252 million kroner. A request for additional funding is now underway, although the minister could not specify how much this new allocation would add to the total price.

At present, the focus is on the financial situation and the significant public deficit. However, the minister remains hopeful that additional funding will be approved, allowing the project to be completed.
