Faroe Islands

The cost of the Famjinstunnelen tunnel project is rapidly approaching double its original price. So far, 252 million Danish kroner have been allocated for the tunnel’s construction.

Although an additional 85 million kroner has already been approved, there is still a request for further funding pending.

The Famjinstunnel was successfully drilled through on July 19.

“This tunnel serves as a clear example that, especially politically, it is necessary to exert greater effort to ensure that everything is in order before embarking on major projects,” stated Dennis Holm, the Minister of Transport.
