Halla Nolsøe Poulsen appointed chair of Gender Equality Committee addressing gender balance issues
Halla Nolsøe Poulsen, the newly appointed chair of the Gender Equality Committee, has been in the role for over a month.
“If you can make a difference, you should step up,” Halla stated regarding her decision to accept the position after the previous chair stepped down unexpectedly.
The committee has an extensive agenda, addressing a wide range of inquiries related to gender equality. These can include efforts to improve gender balance in workplaces or sports clubs, as well as developing gender equality policies. There is growing demand from clients and stakeholders for service providers to prioritize these issues.
Additionally, the committee is tasked with ensuring compliance with gender equality laws. When violations of these laws are observed, the committee will raise awareness of the breach and request corrective measures. This could involve situations where one gender is overrepresented on a committee or in job listings that specify a preference for candidates of a particular gender.
