Eight Faroese vessels deliver over 3,400 tons of mackerel to Norwegian Fishing Auction

Last week, eight Faroese vessels delivered 3,407 tons of mackerel to the Norwegian Fishing Auction.

The agreement with Norway regarding mackerel states that all mackerel caught by Faroese ships in Norwegian waters must be sold through or with the approval of the Norwegian Fishing Auction.

The substantial catch has been sold to processing facilities in the Faroe Islands.

According to the Norwegian Fishing Auction, Norwegian vessels caught 38,186 tons of mackerel in the last week.

Norway’s mackerel quota for this year is set at 237,907 tons, with a total of 81,000 tons caught so far.
