A shocking incident occurred on Sunday in Bogen, just outside Steinkjer, when a car crashed into a ground-floor apartment. Tor Olav Sundfær and his wife, Ann Kristin, were sitting in their living room when the vehicle, driven by a woman in her 70s, collided with their residence. The driver was subsequently hospitalized.

Tor Olav described the terrifying moment, noting that his wife was merely 1.5 meters away from where the car came to a stop, directly in front of her chair. She sustained injuries from the impact, including being hit by the door and glass from the window.

Following the incident, Ann Kristin was taken to the hospital for evaluation, while Tor Olav found alternate accommodation for the night. Fortunately, both of them escaped serious harm, although significant damage occurred within their apartment, rendering it uninhabitable. A wall around their balcony was destroyed, which may have cushioned some of the vehicle’s speed.

The police were notified shortly after the event, and they reported that the occupants of the apartment were unharmed. However, the driver received medical attention. Initial inquiries suggest she may have experienced a health crisis while driving, but the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. The speed limit in the area is 40 kilometers per hour.

Authorities completed their investigation at the scene and have opened a case regarding the incident.
