Metro service resumes at Rautatientori station in Helsinki after three-month renovation
The Helsinki metropolitan area’s metro service is set to resume operations through Rautatientori station today. This central metro hub has been out of service for nearly three months due to renovation and maintenance work.
The metro is scheduled to operate to and from Rautatientori station, connecting east and west, starting with the first trains on Monday. The station’s renovation has caused delays and disruptions, particularly affecting cross-city commuters. Passengers traveling between Helsinki University and Kamppi stations have been advised to bypass Rautatientori and use trams instead.
Additionally, three metro stations in the eastern part of Helsinki have also been closed for renovations throughout the summer. The restoration work at Mellunmäki station is expected to continue for the remainder of this week.
