Vestmanna council invites bids for shipyard operation in the Faroe Islands
The local council in Vestmanna is inviting bids for the operation of its shipyard. Mayor Bjørg á Rógvi hopes to revitalize the area, which has been inactive for several years.
“The municipality does not own the facility; that belongs to MEST. However, the municipality has secured usage rights for the area for the next 25 years,” says Mayor Rógvi.
Businesses or individuals interested in operating at the site are invited to submit a proposal to the municipality. The plan can include maritime activities, but there are specific conditions imposed by MEST.
The deadline for proposal submissions is September 16, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
Proposals should be sent via email to [email protected].
