Thomas Pahr and Cecilie Yttervik Robertsen are excited to tie the knot this Saturday in Trondheim. However, their wedding coincides with the ceremony of Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett in Geiranger, leading to a lighthearted discussion about timing.

Pahr commented on the simultaneous events, saying, “It’s a bit impractical for our guests, as they have to choose between two weddings.” They had set their wedding date well in advance, unaware that the princess would choose the same day. “Who took the date first? We can say it was us, then they came and ‘stole the thunder,’” joked Robertsen.

The couple, who met 17 years ago in Tromsø, is eager to celebrate their union with friends and family. “We’ve waited 17 years to get married, and we look forward to bringing everyone together,” Robertsen added.

While the royal wedding has garnered substantial media attention—Hello Magazine has exclusive photo rights and Netflix has secured TV rights—Pahr and Robertsen’s celebrations will be more intimate. “The rights for our wedding will likely go to NRK, and some friends will take pictures,” Robertsen noted, emphasizing their simple approach.

Security for their wedding is modest, with no special measures in place; “I bought some band-aids,” she said humorously. As for how guests will arrive, Robertsen explained, “They’ll need to find their own way. Some will take buses, taxis, or even fly.”

Despite the royal wedding being a big affair, the couple’s focus remains on their love and the joy of sharing their special day with loved ones. “I just want to continue as before,” Pahr reflected.
