Mosfellsbær is currently hosting the town festival “Í túninu heima” over the weekend, although heavy rain has cast a shadow over the festivities. Despite the weather, residents of Mosfellsbær embraced the occasion with enthusiasm.

Soup is being sold at Álafosskvos to fundraise for a new scout house, accompanied by market stalls and a stage program. Children’s activities are taking place at the community center Hlégarð, while due to the rain, bouncy castles have been relocated indoors to the sports center at Varmá. For the physically active, the Tindahlaup mountain run is also being held in the nearby Mosfellsbær region.

In addition to the rain showers, the men’s club “Karlar í skúrum,” which works to diminish social isolation through craftsmanship, opened its doors to visitors. Street grilling was also moved into garages due to the adverse weather, while attendees were encouraged to dress warmly for the outdoor concerts at Miðbæjartorg.

Looking ahead, weather forecasts predict a decrease in wind and precipitation for tomorrow.
