The emergency services reported on Friday evening around 9 PM that they received over 30 calls within the last two hours, including automatic alarms. As a result of the severe weather, trees have fallen onto roads and lightning has ignited several wildfires.

After 6 PM, water flooded into a youth facility located on Mikkolantie in Ylöjärvi, which the emergency services worked to remove. Approximately an hour later, around 7:30 PM, a lightning strike ignited a storage building on Kaarlahdentie in Karhe. The fire posed a threat to a nearby residential building, but the emergency services managed to contain it.

Authorities have issued a warning that another thunderstorm front is approaching the Pirkanmaa region from the southwest and will provide further details about ongoing alerts as the situation begins to stabilize.
