Faroe Islands

In January of this year, the Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands, Aksel V. Johannesen, announced that half of the funds from the Investment Fund would be allocated for a new terminal at Vágar Airport, while the other half was intended for a potential tunnel to Suðuroy. However, during discussions in the Parliament yesterday, he appeared less decisive about these allocations.

The Investment Fund is set to be implemented in the Faroe Islands at the beginning of the new year, currently boasting around 700 million krónur.

During yesterday’s debate in the Løgting (Parliament), various opinions emerged regarding the appropriate use of the funds in the Investment Fund.
